BARRAGE
saw dust / prepared microphone / motor / 4.2 soundsystem
Barrage follows a 5 month residency in Northumberland National Park on the border between England and Scotland. The work was created after Storm Eunice ravaged through the Winter of 2022.
During this winter period, almost all the trees next to the Rural Roads of Northumberland were ripped apart from the Soil, and forced the local authorities to cut them down. This work was created with wood dust that was left over from the cutting of hundreds of local trees. The sculpture creates a resistance/friction recording mechanism that constantly alters its own shape and sound within a constant drone.
This Artwork was exhibited together with the piece Carva Lavra, part of a solo exhibition in VARC, England.
